Well, I don't think I could really call myself an "early adopter". I started using the Internet in the mid 90s, but I didn't really start using it REGULARLY 'til about 2001 or so.
I got my first boyfriend that year and he was always on IRC. THAT'S when I started using the Internet every day. Before that it was an hour here or there, once or twice a week. I'd check my e-mail and do research for projects, but it wasn't regular and consistent. But, being able to talk to my boyfriend every night? That's what got me on the Internet.
It seems a bit silly now, I guess. But hey!
